Who we are

Together Learning Trust is a group of schools that genuinely like working together.

That might sound like a small thing. It is not. It means nobody in our schools is working in isolation, trying to solve problems that someone two miles away has already solved. It means the expertise that exists across eleven schools belongs to all of them. And it means a child's horizons are wider than their postcode.

We are primary schools, secondary schools, a sixth form and a special school. We are rooted in West Yorkshire. And we believe that when schools work like this, something remarkable happens for children. That belief comes from a clear set of values, and everything we do flows from them.

David Lord, CEO

We are not a trust that happened by accident. We are a trust that was built around a particular way of thinking about education: that schools are not in competition, that expertise should be shared generously, and that when you create the conditions for people to do their best work, remarkable things follow.

That thinking shapes everything. Including what we value.

What we value

Our schools have their own values, shaped by their communities and by their children. That is right and it matters.

As a trust, our values are different. They are not about how we want children to live. They are about how we want to lead: how we make decisions, how we hold ourselves to account, and what we believe it means to do this work well.

We have three.

Integrity

Doing the right thing for children, even when it is hard.

Excellence

Paying attention to everything, because young people deserve nothing less.

Joy

An open, inventive, generous culture - because that is when people do their best work.

How we put this into practice

Values only mean something if they show up in how you actually work. The pages below go into the detail of what integrity, excellence and joy look like across our schools: in the quality of teaching and learning, in how we develop character, in how we invest in our people, in how generously we share what we know, and in the care we take to make sure every school is free to focus on what matters most.
